Martha Stewart beat Coca-Cola to the punch: news broke today that she partnered with Canadian marijuana company Canopy Growth to create hemp-derived CBD products. CBD is the non-psychoactive part of the cannabis sativa plant, but many claim it has therapeutic benefits. We've covered it in these notes as a big opportunity for companies to diversify their product offerings now that it's legal from the Farm Bill passing last December. The two examples we've given is Coca-Cola and alcohol companies to develop CBD beverages as the growth in usage for sugary drinks and liquor continue to slow.
